Description
The Center was established pursuant to Resolution No. (23) issued on January 8, 2008, by the Secretary of the General People’s Committee for Higher Education, and in accordance with the directives of the University Presidency, in coordination with the General People’s Committee for Higher Education and the British Council, for the implementation of certain scientific and training agreements concluded among these parties regarding the establishment of the Language Center at Al-Jabal Al-Gharbi University in the Gharyan city. Professor Amer Mohamed Al-Bashir Al-Dahmani was appointed as the Secretary of the Center by Resolution No. (132). Since its inception, the Center has been conducting training courses aimed at enhancing English language proficiency for all teaching assistants and postgraduate students, and more recently, extending opportunities to resident faculty members at the University of Gharyan.
The Center is regarded as an academic institution with a clear mission: to achieve excellence in the field of language training and education. It organizes training programs in foreign languages at various levels and seeks to meet the needs of learners by adopting a well-defined academic methodology specialized in language instruction. This methodology is grounded in the latest theories, curricula, and educational tools, with the aim of advancing education and culture within society and linking it to the surrounding environment. This is particularly significant given the importance of mastering the English language across diverse scientific disciplines.

The mission of the Center is to assist students who wish to learn the English language and mastering it, and to provide high-quality, distinguished, and accredited education system in accordance with internationally recognized standards and curricula. The Center aims to prepare competent individuals capable of meeting the requirements of the labor market demands and keeping pace with its developments. Furthermore, the Language Center seeks to contribute to scientific research and development, and to provide specialized consultations in fields that fall within its scope of expertise, in addition to its pioneering role in community development and service.
